This Labour Day weekend at The Soccer Centre in Vaughan, the Mayor’s Cup will feature eight GTA women’s teams who will take the pitch to help make cancer history. Salute to Soccer and the Ontario Soccer Association have teamed up to invigorate the Mayor’s Cup and raise $80,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society.
The money raised from Kick 4 Cancer helps fund leading-edge cancer research that is improving cancer treatments, preventing cancer and saving lives; provide reliable and up-to-date information on cancer, risk reduction and treatment; offer vital community-based support services for people living with cancer and their families; and advocate for healthy public policies.
Players from Innisfil SC, Mississauga SC, Oshawa Kicks, Unionville Milliken Soccer Club, Vaughan Soccer Club, Whitby Iroquois Soccer Club and Woodbridge SC will take the pitch to represent their clubs as well as join forces on an eighth team: the Canadian Cancer Squad.
