FIFA (The Fédération Internationale de Football Association) is an association governed by Swiss law founded in 1904 and based in Zurich. It has 208 member associations and its goal, enshrined in its Statutes, is the constant improvement of football.

The spectrum of FIFA’s work has widened considerably in the last few years, requiring increasing coordination of its many and varies activities. Fortunately, expert help is always at hand from the Confederations, which support FIFA substantially in tasks such as the organisation of tournaments.
Its premier tournament is the quadrennial FIFA World Cup.
